Outlaw Births

Here is more on the video I wish was available to the U.S. It doesn't surprise me that another countries media has the ovaries to air something as controversial as this. :o)

  1. nicole, i have to admit i sit on the fence about unassisted births...but the more you post and the more i watched, not only am i in absolute awe at the strength of these women but also their bravery and courage. and this one in particular touches still a grieving part of me and my 3yr daughter's birth. this is the birth i would have like to have had...

    peace,
    lil

  2. I can't believe they had the ovaries to air this either... you are quite possibly the funniest person I know...
thanks for sharing, what a beautiful birth, the mom was so in control of herself.

  3. Lil - thanks for the comment! I agree, there are many women (the majority, actually) that u/a birth would NOT be a good decision for. But, on the other hand, just as I believe that homebirth, hospital birth, and birth center birth should all be options for women, so do I believe that u/a is a valid option... more than ever, a woman needs educational and emotional support when she chooses this route - while also being understanding and completely accepting of the risks.

How beautiful was that birth, though?!
