I would LOVE to win Julia, as I am a doula/childbirth educator/holistic therapist and would use her help teach families about physiological birth and breastfeeding :) I would then need to invest in a VBAC doll also, as I am also passionate about VBAC ;)

I've found that many new parents are unsure what a posterior position is and rather than using pictures and words this mama and her babe are the ideal way of demonstrating it! ReplyDeleteAs a doula I think exploring Julia with clients would serve to break the ice and raise a smile, whilst opening up the conversation to so many subjects surrounding birth and nurturing a child.
It brings the whole family into the learning process, with older siblings being lovingly involved in learning how mama will have the baby.
Asa breastfeeding counsellor and doula, I already have a 'family' of named babies to help me demonstrate breastfeeding. This mama would make such a fantastic addition to my family and me a 'mother' to my 'babies'.

Already a fan of MamAmor and love her dolls! I would love to have one for my mw office to use in teaching for mamas re: nursing and labour positions. And we have lots of big families in the clinic so she would get tons of lovely play from the kids who come. They are always really interested in our dolls and home/family play. Julia would be a lovely addition!

We don't have many certified doulas in our area, but we do have LOTS of women who seem to keep being 'called' to births. They are our community doulas. All of them are fabulous and what a great way to celebrate this month!

As a birth Doula I can use a mamamor doll in several ways. I think having one would be great when discussing the importance of immediate skin to skin and initial breastfeeding after birth. I also think it would be helpful when discussing birth to older siblings. Overall, I think having a mamamor birth/nursing doll would just be an awesome tool for my birth bag of Doula tricks! :) Cheers to doulas, families who hire doulas, childbirth educators who teach about doulas, and midwives/care providers who welcome doulas into the birth room with respect and open arms!
ReplyDeleteI am a doula, a momma, and a community peaceful birth/parenting advocate. I could use a MamAmor doll for soooo many things. What comes immediately to mind is for use during childbirth/parenting education, which I do for urban children...mainly foster children who find themselves pregnant with very little support or resources. I'm so excited about these dolls!

ReplyDeleteAnswer: I would use a MamAmor doll in my practice in a number of ways, but primarily as a visual aid for siblings. I often talk about birth and breastfeeding with the children of families I support. Often it is hard for younger children to envision these processes, and having a MamAmor doll would allow me to explain in a way that can be grasped by the child.
I'm a mama of one and would love to use Julia in my Hypnobabies' classes that I will hopefully be teaching this next year. Julia would be especially helpful in assisting kids in understanding birthing who will be attending births. :)

As a doula myself our group (Doulas of Regina) is going to have 2 information days about doulas free to the public, as well as have a booth at a big local arts festival this month!!
My daughter is lucky enough to have one of her beautiful dolls and she takes it with her to my local earth friendly store and shows and tells ppl about it all the time :)
As a mother I would educate about doulas by telling everbody how great it is to have a doula when giving birth. It's really great to have someone there who is just for you.
ReplyDeleteI am not a doula, but have a dearly beloved doula whom I have been blessed to count as a friend and sister for over a decade now. My dearest Jamie spent 4 days with me laboring with my daughter. She was tireless in her support of myself and my husband. Her calm, gentle reassurance and humor and thoughtful contributions were the most amazing gift I could have been given. After becoming pre-eclampsic and transporting to the hospital where I ultimately delivered by c-section, she checked in on me and my daughter to make sure that I had support and was breastfeeding. Then she lovingly collected my placenta and cared for it with such respect so as to preserve its powerful presence. She has longed for a MamAmor mama for quite some time now and I would be thrilled to be able to provide one for her as a very heartfelt token of my appreciation!
ReplyDeleteAs a doula I would use it to demonstrate birth, including breech/sunny side up, cuddling the baby at the breast with an intact cord after the birth, bfing, and of course using a sling with the baby!

ReplyDeleteAs a Mama, I will continue to tell people how I think my birth experience would have been better with a doula. There is so much more that i think would have been done, including avoiding the dose of fentanyl that ultimately made me throw up, and did nothing for my pain.
ReplyDeleteAs an aspiring midwife, I hope to promote the use of doulas someday when I have my own practice or birth center. Hopefully by then, I will be able to share my own story of how a doula helped me.
As a doula i would use it to explain all birthing and breastfeeding positions, also to show the cord and placenta.

ReplyDeleteAs a mama I have been blessed to know and been aided by wonderful doulas. I plan to continue to spread the word about a doulas play a vital role, even if you are assised by a midwife. This Thursday I will be speaking at a celebration for the international day of the midwife, I will use this opportunity to also acknowledge doulas, their hard work, dedication and essential pressence in the birth process.
I think your dolls are so beautiful and would feel very lucky to give one to daughter. I think it is a beautiful way to remind children that birth is normal, beautiful and joyful :)

As a volunteer birth doula, I could use her to educate mothers from the Pregnancy Resource Center of Santa Cruz where I volunteer. During our free childbirth classes, she could be used as a basic visual for childbirth, just to wrap your head around the basics. For a private doula/client meeting, she could be used to do the same thing but in a little more detail because I'm speaking to her one on one. She could also be used to teach the woman's children about the birth process. This would be especially helpful if the woman wanted her children in the room for birth.

As a birth and postpartum doula, I often work with families to help their older siblings prepare, understand, and integrate the childbirth and newborn experience. MamAmor dolls are an obvious and wonderful resource to help make this happen. I love it!

ReplyDeleteI am a Mommy to one beautiful boy and 2 gorgeous girls. I am already a huge fan of MamAmor Dolls and I plan on using her to show my children just how natural and beautiful childbirth is! My Son and Daughter already watch me nurse their little sister and both have 'nursed' their own dolls, Teddy bears, etc. For them to see childbirth in the purest, simplest form would be a joy and a blessing...perhaps inspiring their own natural childbirth later on or perhaps to get them involved as Doulas/Midwives!

I am a midwife and share the benefits of doulas with my clients by having doulas come and meet some of my clients, as well as have them assist me at home births. A good doula is a valuable asset and works as well as pain relief in many instances!
ReplyDeleteFor me, education re: the importance of doulas isn't something that I will do just this month only. I regularly talk with friends, family, and acquaintances about doulas - how they support mommas, how outcomes are better for babies, how there are fewer interventions during birth when doulas are used. Some people I know think that just having someone, anyone, at their birth is the same as having a trained and certified doula. I then provided verbal information as well as links to resources to show that doulas are a special group and are uniquely qualified to support mommas before, during, and after birth.
ReplyDeleteI am hosting monthly BabyNet Community events. Every month is a different topic: Breastfeeding, Baby Wearing, Birth Stories. We've had as many as 50 women to our events! Connecting moms to one another is the best thing about what we are doing. We are creating friendships that will carry them through their births and beyond.

As a midwifery lecturer, I would increase the knowledge and promotion of doulas to my midwifery students and women to effect change in their lives also. I love doulas and understanding the great emotional and holistic support a doula can be is invaluable to women experiencing birth in this system which sometimes works against them.
As a doula this would be GREAT for moms with children already who aren't quite sure what is going to be going on with mom. I've wanted one of these dolls for a while and it would just add so much education to even my own small children.

ReplyDeleteI'm a huge FB fan My 5yr old was there with me for the beautiful birth of his little brother. He is always re-enacting the birth with his dolls but none of them have the right equipment. I'm part of a group of gentle parents who try to educate other parents about gentle birth and gentle parenting. We have lots of books and slings that we loan to parents and parents to be.
ReplyDeleteWe have playdates here at my house once a week for local mothers and their children and I can't think of a better toy for the kids to play with.
We recently had a 9yr old girl come over and play. She was asking me lots of questions after she saw me breastfeed my 3yr old, she'd only ever seen her mother bottle feed her little sister. This doll would have been such a great educational toy for her - I just loved it how my 5yr old was explaining how you breasfeed and the best way to hold and carry your baby :)
I tell every woman that I come in contact with about doulas. They are such a benefit. My husband had the flu while I was in labor - so my doula was literally my only support.

We look at the website every couple of days, seeing which new dolls are available and listening to the beautiful music. Even if we win we will buy another and take them with us to playgroups, parenting meetings and share the beauty of them with anyone who visits us. Every little girl and boy would be so lucky to have such a gorgeous doll.

Delightful. I can't image how excited I would be to have a doll of hers! I am a doula & CBE so Julia would be helpful to break the ice, entice questions, and demonstrate her baby love - honestly though, it's at dinner parties, and when my boys have friends come over that I most want to have her available. I have assisted in the hospital birth of my friend's 4 children, my daughters 2 children and one of my daughter-in-laws children. My 3 1/2 year old granddaughter was in the delivery room when her brother was born 15 weeks ago and she wants this doll so bad.

Now,I have 2 nieces and a few other young friends that are doulas.I am their strongest supporter and will talk to anyone who will listen about the benefits of home births, midwives and doulas. I often discuss doulas as a way to both make sure they are adequately supported and nurtured during labor, as well as helping with that first latch following baby's birth... this month, I will begin training to become a doula! I'm sharing my drug-free natural birth experience in an article in the local (Singapore) magazine this month. It talks about doulas assisting births, how they make a difference to births and that it is possible to give birth to a baby as big as 4.4kg naturally, even peacefully! My husband and I were so relaxed that we even fell asleep in the tub at one point!
When I see your dolls, I fell in love with them immediately because they gave a meaning to my career and passion as a mother to share the wonderful, peaceful way of birthing and beauty of breastfeeding to more family and new parents out there. I really hope to win Julia cause it will mean so much to me.

I am already a fan on fb and I will share this givaway as well... to educate people on doulas I tell everyone I know what a wonderful support a doula can be. As a student in a mental health counsiling program, currently taking a couples and family counsiling class I will educate my classmates on the importance of doulas in the pregnancy and childbirth phase of the family life cycle. If I won this doll I would have my almost 3 year old son take it everywhere and I could answer people's questions about it including that I won it in a givaway celebrating international doula month! This of course would be a good way to introduce education about doulas and how they are so important and wonderful!

ReplyDeleteAs a mama, I'd love to use it with my kids, and future grandkids, to help normalize nursing play and even birth, so that the function of birth and breastfeeding, even eventually the discussion of how it got there, wouldn't be closed off or "Weird."
I am going to start doula classes next year! I would use the doll to teach my children about birth and breastfeeding as well as future siblings of futute clients.

ReplyDeleteI am an AP mama of 1, I would use this doll (that I have been drooling over) to teach my daughter about natural birth. After having a TERRIBLE birth experince, I will be (and already have) spreading the word of how amazing a doula can be during/after labour. We also do child lead weaning, I would use this doll to teach my daughter that it is OK to BF anywhere/time. (unlike those dolls that come with bottles) What an awesome give away. ReplyDeleteTo answer your question; I will continue to recommend doulas and midwives and share my knowledge with every pregnant mama I know!
My plan is to share this doll at my childbirthing class and then to gift it to my amazing midwife who will use it as a teachig tool for her clients and midwifery students!
I am "just" a mama, but I believe every mother deserves a doula for her children's births. I did not have a doula for my first child, but was blessed enough to have an amazing doula for my second daughter's birth (in February!) and the difference was astounding! I have already educated many of my friends (who did not even know what a doula was!), and try to continue doing so any time I can bring it up!

I really hope to make (if only a small) impact in our area about this topic. I live in West Virginia, and most people who live here are very uneducated about their options during childbirth (as in, they don't know they have any options!).

I am just a mother but I had a doula with my daughter and I tell everyone I know when they are pregnant that I would never do labor again without one! My husband also agrees :) I would love to have one of these dolls for my daughter, she is the baby of the family and therefore the only one who never watched babies breastfeed. I want her to grow up with the knowledge of how natural parenting works and knowing how her body works.

ReplyDeleteIn the long term I intend to gently educate those around me about natural birth, doulas, HB etc, by safely and responsibly modeling my beliefs in my next birth, like I currently model AP and BF.
But this month, I will simply share information gently and respectfully on my FB and blog. You never know who is reading... :)
As a doula and Childbirth Educator I would use her in my classes for younger (teens, college age) moms as we talk about birth and breastfeeding being normal. She's so pretty and I know it will open the doors for these young moms-to-be. :-)

ReplyDeleteAs a doula who does some of my own childbirth instruction, I would use her to teach a class on preperation for youngsters who are getting a little brother or sister.

I counsel breastfeeding mothers and have been coming around to the pro-doula mentality in the past few years since I'm around babies so much (my own two and many many more in my hood). I thought that if you had a midwife looking after you, you didn't need a doula...but boy was I wrong! Doulas rock!
ReplyDeleteAs a doula, I would love to use this wonderful doll as a way to initiate communication between parents and their older children about birth, particularly for families who plan for the siblings to be present at the birth. I envision just having the doll available for children to explore and play with during prenatal doula visits. I think this would be a wonderful resource, and just plain fun!

I want every woman to feel empowered during her pregnancy and I know that a doula is an important part of this. I would so love a MamAmor doll to share with my children. I have just applied to be a breastfeeding peer counselor for my local WIC office and I hope hope hope I get it. I love breastfeeding my babies and I want to share that with everyone. I plan to use the doll for that where ever possible.
As a mama, I attend a playgroup in our community every Thursday. I'd just LOVE for my boys to walk in with her...Im sure it'd spark a ton of comments and awareness. I had a Doula with my first child and midwives after that, if I could've afforded it, I would've had a Doula for my last two as well. She was my coach and my rock, I was so happy to have her by my side. I'd love to spread that message with others. :)

ReplyDeleteAs an accredited breast feeding counsellor and trainee doula also called Julia, with a matching hairstyle and colour:) Julia the birthing doll would be amazing to own and would become an important education tool within the network of doulas I'm involved with in the north east of England. I absolutely adore these dolls and have been looking for one that spoke to me for a while and Julia does. Not only would have a loving home here in the UK and be played with by my three daughters, but she'd also be very busy educating many people. ReplyDeleteI'm an OB nurse and LOVE doulas. I remind my fellow RNs that they almost always make our job easier--and that there is such good evidence that the continuous support is necessary and we know we can't provide it.

As a mother, a MamAmor doll would be utilized to reinforce breastfeeding as normal and the "how" and "where" about birth.

ReplyDeleteIt's such a hard time in their lives trying to understand what is happening around them. Often times you'll hear advice "give them age appropriate information" but the question then becomes what is that?
Parents often don't have the tools available to them to help children understand and a doll can help them with those conversations.

ReplyDeleteI share with my pregnant friends what a benefit a doula can be to have by her side through pregnancy, birth and postpartum. Doulas (and Julia) RULE!
I am a student midwife and I could not do my job without doulas! They are an integral part of a birth team and every mama should have one! I tell all my clients about doulas and highly (I cannot stress it enough!) recommend doulas to first time moms-to-be... and I plan to continue doing this every day! I would love to have Julia as a teaching tool and distraction for all the soon-to-be big sisters and brothers who will be attending their baby's birth!

ReplyDeleteShe is beautiful! I shared the link on Birth Kalamazoo's Facebook page, and I've been a fan of the MamAmor page for some time. I have been loving the MamAmor dolls for so long now! I can envision using it in our breastfeeding classes to demonstrate various positions. But what I'm most excited about is sharing it with little ones who are curious about breastfeeding and birth. So many of my clients ask about how to talk about birth with their older children, especially if the child will be attending the birth. Every one in awhile someone I know sends me a link to the MamAmor page saying how cool it would be if I had one to share with families - YES! Julia would be a wonderful teaching tool. ReplyDeleteI currently run classes on attachment parenting including babywearing demos and cloth nappy displays. This month the focus will shift a little into birth and doulas! We will have a doula come and speak with our group to discuss how the benefits on continuous care can negate the need for pain relief and prevent the cascade of interventions. not too mention the fact that a doula can help you stay strong and speak your mind even when you are at your most venerable. I know this doll would be a huge hit with the children in our group too. My own children have attended home births before and love to explain to the other children what goes on during birth. educating the children is an integral part of birth in my opinion as they need to know why mum is away and what is going to happen to her, if a hospital birth is chosen. Visual aides like this amazing doll are a blessing in educating young minds about the natural wonder of birth and breastfeeding.

As a doula, I think this doll would be a great learning tool for the older children of my clients. I know I wished I'd had one as I was preparing my daughter for the birth of our son. Children use play to understand the world around them, and I think this doll offers such a great opportunity for children to do that.

ReplyDeleteI plan on educating women (and their partners) about doulas using my photography business (I do maternity portraits, and once people find out my educational background - anatomy/physiology professor) as well as my personal background (home birth)...they always have lots of a questions about natural childbirth. I make sure to recommend a doula (whether home or hospital birth).

MamAmor dolls are amazing! I have loved them since hearing about them at my local Le Leche meeting. If I won I could bring this beautiful doll to meeting and play dates. Many of our members are doula's and have home birthed, this is a wonderful teaching tool for children.

I am a doula and massage therapist. I remember my mom having a doll similar to this when she was a childbirth educator. I played with it often growing up. I loved it! Wish I still had it. :-(

Such a cute doll and great educational tool! I am a doula and will be launching my CBE classes this fall. I would love to not only use this doll with my clients and in my class, but also have it as part of my "lending" materials. This would be a fabulous doll to led to clients that are expecting a 2nd, 3rd, etc... child. I am a mother to one sweet little boy. I couldn't have been more thankful for my Doula as I ended up with a Ceserean delivery and would have had a much less joyful experience withouther loving support. i tell everyone who will listen about how wonderful doulas are! especially where i live, where natural birthing options are EXTREMELY limited (many women are forced to drive out of state while in labor to get the care they want). we used a doula for our first baby's birth ten months ago, and plan on using her again in three months when our next is due. where i live, the first question is "what is a doula?!" and i am more than happy to enlighten them. women here do not know that they have rights and options. and since i worked at the local hospital (and still hang out there at least once a week for the breastfeeding support group), they are surprised to hear about them, and how a doula can help achieve their goals for the birth experiences they desire.

This month and every month I use my facebook page as a platform to not only educate people about Doulas and Natural birthing but also Natural living and peaceful parenting. The more information you get out there, the more people that will turn to these approaches with their own life. Hopefully they will pass this information along to their friends and family as well so that the web of knowledge can continue to grow :)

ReplyDeleteI LOVE these dolls and would LOVE to have one to use to educate others who work in the field of infant and family wellness. I teach infant massage (am an Educator-Trainer, certifying those who go on to work with families). I would use this doll to demonstrate the beauty of parent-infant bonding, beginning in-utero, at birth, postpartum and on...since teaching infant massage is far more than teaching a series of strokes, this doll would serve as a valuable visual and kinesthetic tool for learning, growing and expanding one's perspective on early bonding.
ReplyDeleteI have started an ICAN chapter in my area. It's not very active, but I have become good friends with a few of the Mama's that have contacted me. I'm always sure to tell my birth stories because I believe they are empowering. As badly as I wanted a homebirth, I had hospital births with all three children and I think in my area that makes an empowering birth seem more attainable.

As a CBE, we talk about doulas and their role in a birth with each new set of couples who come through our class. I'm also active in our local doula group and helped promote doula month with a "meet the doulas" event last week. ReplyDeleteI'm not a doula and didn't use a doula at my last 2 births but after my daughters birth 3 weeks ago when I was lucky enough to have 1 great midwife thru my whole birth, I would certainly recommend all of my pregnant friends to use a doula. In our public health care system it's really luck of the draw who you get at your birth and if birthing takes more than a few hours you can end up with 2-3 or more midwives! I know that from my first 23 hour hospital labour! I was just lucky this time a really clicked with my midwife and she was on a 12 hour shift! I have loved mamamour dolls for ages and shared the giveaway on facebook ;D

Wow...As a doula I would use her to teach others.. I think one of my favorite features is her motherly smile and he motherly figure... SHe made me feel almost tribal. Gwen Brancato
ReplyDeleteAs a doula, I would use this in prenatal visits with clients to give them a visual on birth positions, baby's position (anterior, posterior, etc.). As a mama, I would use it to show my baby girl how beautifully and naturally I birthed her into this world and how I fed her as a babe/toddler/child.

At first, I was not sure about doulas. UNTIL, one of my best girlfriends started becoming one. And educated me on the importance of one.
Now, this has changed my mind about them. I inform anyone I know about doulas and spread the word as much as I can by word of mouth.
They are women and men that help with supporting mothers in their time of need. I know I will be using my friend when I become pregnant again.
I would use this beautiful doll to explain birth and breastfeeding to younger siblings! Swoon.... I've wanted one forEVER! Thanks for the chance to win!

ReplyDeleteI have to be honest... my educating on this one *is* sharing great things like this on facebook and teaching my children that mamas have *options* when they give birth. I support doulas but have never used one in my 5 births... but I want *every* woman (and her hubby) and in particular my future woman (and four future hubbies) to know her birth is *hers* and I know that doulas can be one great support to that.
I tell everybody who asks that I had a doula for my last birth and how much of a difference it made to my labour. I also plan to donate this doll (if I win her) to my midwife's office for future clients to enjoy:)
ReplyDeleteI would use the doll to encourage breastfeeding even more than I do now to new momma's. Plus it is SUPER cute and would definitely be a good influence to have around!
ReplyDeleteI already have one but I know someone who would LOVE her!! As a doula, I plan to use her to help siblings understand where baby comes from and normalize breastfeeding so moms can feed comfortably in front of their children.

As a doula, I feel she would be wonderful for teaching siblings that are expecting a new member in their family especially those that are going to be present at the birth. By showing a child the natural process of birth with a friendly, lovely doll, I think it would allow them to experience it for themselves via pretend play in an nonthreatening atmosphere before seeing mom go through it. By being able to re create it, children would become more comfortable with the process.
ReplyDeleteAlso, children are used to looking at toys as the inspiration of what is "cool" and what the world looks like. By having a doll that shows how natural and normal birth and breastfeeding is, it would help them see it as cool.

ReplyDeleteI would love to use a Julia to work with the children I help prepare for birth at their mama's prenatals. The children already love to curl up one of the babydolls and help me pass it through the pelvis-- if I had a doll that birthed, they'd enjoy it so much more! And these dolls are so idea-- I've had the pleasure of experiencing them in person at the Trust Birth conference. The placenta, the umbilical cord, the nipples-- these sweet dolls are to die for!!
ReplyDeleteAs a mama who had an emergency c-section I don't have a lot of experience with this profession but I can educate myself and use Julia to explain who made her and what that means to pregnant and labouring women all over the world.

I have had two home births so far and while I haven't had a doula for either of them, I was blessed to have midwives attending. They had many great tools for teaching my son what to expect during labour and birth, but nothing like these amazing dolls.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to start my doula training program in a couple months and have already planned on buying one of these dolls once I'm certified and my service gets going.
As a doula, I plan on offering child minding as one of my services as I believe if a child is prepared and wants to be there for a birth, they should be able to share in the amazing experience of it. I know these dolls would be a great way to educate both adults and children alike. When we were preparing my son for my daughter's birth, we had a lot of great resources, but nothing like this. I think this would have been a really easy and visual way to show him how birth works.
I am a mama, doula, and childbirth educator. I would love to have one of these dolls for my doula practice. It would be fantastic to have a birth and breastfeeding model that wasn't so clinical. This would also be a great sibling tool during home visits.
ReplyDeleteAs a childbirth educator, I educate my students about doulas every chance I get. It is a set topic that is incorporated into our curriculum.
My local community group, The Birth Network of Monterey County, just hosted an educational 'Meet the Doula' event on Sunday.
I am a doula, for both birth and postpartum along with being a massage therapist and yoga teacher that focuses on women, mothers, and families. I would be honored to use such a high quality and artistic doll that embodies our body's potential to hold a baby, birth it, and breast feed. I would use this doll in a variety of ways. I think its ability to help a woman visualize herself giving birth and breastfeeding would be my favorite way to use it. I think she would act as a totem of sorts, an altar-piece that would go with me to workshops, yoga sessions, prenatal visits, even postpartum to give a woman confidence that her body has gone through, and is going through a highly transformative process and to connect with the beauty of these changes and hopefully find peace with her place in her process.

ReplyDeleteAs a midwife I am recommending doulas to help them as most Dads feel they need the help. Sometimes I am very tired after being up the days before some births and it is nice to have a doula there to work with Mom and Dad while I rest and get refreshed before the actual birth begins.

I love Julia and I love doulas! I have had two natural births with the help of a doula. I sing their praises every day and will continue to do so!

I spread the word about doulas by letting pregnant friends know that having a doula can really help them attain the birth that they are wanting (and encourage them to research/meet some doulas and find out what they do, despite the fact that some doctors *ahem, mine* will talk down about them).

ReplyDeleteI'm just a mama but I would very much like to welcome Julia into our family. I had a wonderful homebirth and my daughter is an extended breastfeeder at 2.5 still sleeping in the bed she was born in. As an itty bitty she loved to breastfeed her dolls, but after being introduced to preschool this year like probably hundreds of children she has been taught the truth baby goes with bottle. What a different world we would live in if the message baby goes with breast was passed on as loudly? :) I would like to share Julia with my daughter's school and hope to initiate conversations and play that would promote birth and breastfeeding as natural. Thus supporting doulas and the birth community by just maybe :) building a healthy and empowering foundation for the mothers of tomorrow.

As a mama, i shall be celebrating doula month, by attending by doula friends' 'doula-doo' it's an open invitation event, hosted by the local doula's to raise awareness of themselves and to educate others. i'm taking along a few pregnant friends and hope that it will help them to make an informed decision for their births

I cannot express how awesome your creations are! Even in all the natural toy stores that we shop online I have never been able to find a doll like this! I love that your mamas embody all the birthing and parenting things that are so important to our family-natural birth, family-centered birth, breastfeeding, babywearing, and cloth diapering! I would love to use one of your beautiful dolls to prepare my children for their sibling's arrival and I would also love to borrow it from them to use as a fun tool to demonstrate birth, breastfeeding, and bonding in my natural childbirth classes and with my doula clients. I will remind them that breastfeeding gets off to the very best start after a calm and natural birth, which can be achieved with the help of a doula. xxx

I am a constant supporter of Doula's in our area. I couldn't have birthed my son without the assistance of my doula as well as my bradley classes. I am constantly talking about how wonderful doulas are and how beneficial to our community :-)
