That said, I can answer the first question: "Who really benefits?" My son. I have been breastfeeding now for 5 solid years. But my most recently born child actually has a tongue tie that extends all the way to the back of his tongue making it impossible for him to nurse properly. After 3mo of me trying to make it work, he was diagnosed FTT. We just got out of the hospital and after being supplemented for only 2 weeks, he's gained 2lbs and looks like a normal baby. Thank God I had another option, yes?
So I think it's important to remember not to bash formula too hard- I have just lived through that reminder in my own life.
I am still looking forward to this film- I just thought some perspective is always a good thing. I know it has been for me.
Thank you for 'perspective'! Yes, I agree, it is a great thing to be reminded of true indications for formula feeding, just as it is a great thing we have other technological advances for when they are truly necessary, yes? :)
feel free to post relevant comments, even friendly debate, but note: if you post anonymously, I may not publish you - grow some ovaries and let's have a cuppa.
That looks like a really interesting documentary.
